To navigate instructional design effectively, this framework organizes pedagogical terms into two operational levels:
High-Level Foundations: Standards & Unit Goals (annual benchmarks and 2–4 week conceptual arcs).
In The Art and Science of Teaching (2007), Dr. Robert Marzano outlined 10 Instructional Design Questions. This framework anchors the first four design questions directly to our clarity framework:

How to Use It: Structure statements using the formula: ‘I can [cognitive verb] by [strategy/context]’. Align the posted verb to the task’s actual DOK level and focus on one primary target per lesson.
